About this image converter
The page is the tool. Each tile is a format: JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF, plus JPEG XL on browsers that can write it. Drop a photo, a pile of photos, or a whole folder on the tile you want, and the converted copy downloads. One file comes back as a file. Several come back as one zip that keeps your folder layout. Paste a screenshot with Ctrl or Cmd+V and it goes to the last tile you used.
Your browser decodes each image and redraws it at the same width and height, then saves it in the new format. JPG has no transparency, so see-through areas turn white instead of black. PNG is lossless. WebP and AVIF trade a little detail for much smaller files, and the list under the tiles shows each file’s size before and after so you can see what you saved. AVIF uses a small encoder that downloads the first time you press that tile, then stays cached.
Nothing is uploaded. Conversion happens on your device, and after one visit the page works with no connection. It does not resize or crop. Photo details such as camera model and location are not copied into the new file. It can only open formats your browser can already show, so HEIC needs Safari for now. Very large images can be slow on a phone.
FAQ
Are my images uploaded? No. Your browser converts them on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and the page keeps working offline after your first visit.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background as a JPG? JPG cannot store transparency. Bare fills see-through areas with white so they do not turn black. Pick PNG, WebP, or AVIF to keep transparency.
Why don't I see a JPEG XL tile? The JXL tile appears only when your browser can save JPEG XL. Most browsers can open it but not write it yet, so the tile stays hidden.
Can I convert a whole folder? Yes. Drop the folder on a tile. Every image inside, including subfolders, is converted and you get one zip with the same folder layout.
