How is this calculated? Gallons = ceil(sq ft × coats / coverage × (1 + waste/100)).
What is coverage? The label on the can, square feet per gallon, one coat. 350 is a common default.
Why round up? You cannot buy a fraction of a gallon at most stores. Change coverage if your can says otherwise.
